We are excited to be recruiting for a Homeware/Textile Designer to join our busy design studio in Leeds on a 12 month fixed-term maternity leave contract (potential to be made permanent). Working across our own in-house brands, a selection of customer accounts and some licenced product. This role is a great opportunity to join a creative and collaborative team in a fast paced environment where no two days are the same.

You will be part of a dynamic design team where the focus is on creating trend-led, commercial print and homeware designs suitable across multiple categories.

Role Overview

· Designing and developing original all over prints (both hand rendered and digital) for the homeware market, both in house brands and customer briefs.

· Working across multiple categories from bedding to lighting and everything in between.

· Working closely with the design, buying and merchandising teams to create commercial, bestselling lines.

· Preparing technical CAD files for print and production ensuring colour and repeat accuracy.

· Producing highly detailed specification sheets for suppliers.

· Taking ownership of your own design/artwork from the moment the pen touches the paper until final sample approval.

· Ability to adapt archive work, amending scales, new colour ways, adjusting repeating patterns.

· Ability to work at a fast pace, deliver to deadlines and work well under pressure.

· Supporting the team with administrative tasks and archiving when needed.

· Excellent organisational and time management skills.

What You Bring

  • Minimum 2/3 years experience in a similar role
  • Confident user of Adobe Creative Suite and AVA
  • Ability to create artwork both by hand painting/drawing and digitally
  • Ability to manage multiple briefs and timelines
  • Good understanding of print processes, techniques and fabric bases
  • Strong commercial awareness with a good understanding of the UK homeware market
  • A collaborative approach to working across teams
  • A love for home interiors
