Location: Lambeth, London

Sanctuary Personnel is currently recruiting for an experienced and passionate Band 6 CAMHS Art Therapist to join a dedicated Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) team in Lambeth. This rewarding opportunity offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on the emotional wellbeing and mental health of children and young people while working within a supportive multidisciplinary environment.

This role is ideal for a qualified Art Therapist with experience supporting young people experiencing emotional and mental health challenges, including anxiety, low mood, emotional regulation difficulties, and anger management concerns.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver specialist art therapy assessments and therapeutic interventions for children and adolescents within a CAMHS setting.
  • Support young people presenting with a range of emotional and mental health needs, including anxiety, depression, low mood, and behavioural or anger management difficulties.
  • Develop and implement person-centred treatment plans tailored to individual needs.
  • Work collaboratively with psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, social workers, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings, case discussions, and clinical reviews.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation in line with professional and organisational standards.
  • Participate in risk assessments, safeguarding processes, and care planning activities.
  • Monitor and evaluate therapeutic outcomes to support positive recovery journeys.
  • Maintain professional registration and practice within professional guidelines and scope of competence.

Requirements

  • Qualified Art Therapist with recognised professional training.
  • Current registration with the relevant professional body (HCPC registration preferred).
  • Previous experience working within CAMHS, children's mental health services, or adolescent therapeutic settings.
  • Experience conducting mental health assessments and delivering therapeutic interventions.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, risk management, and child-centred practice.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
