About this role:
The Hub Leader is a senior front-line catering team member responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a designated concession or bar unit on matchdays and events. Acting as the main point of contact within their area, the Hub Leader is responsible for ensuring excellent guest service, accurate stock control and that all team members operate in accordance with Club standards and legal requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the full operation of a designated concession or bar unit from set-up to close-down.
- Attend pre-match/pre-event briefings and prepare the unit for service.
- Complete close-down duties and support final counts and cleaning.
- Liaise with the Concessions Supervisor and management team to ensure the smooth operation of the area.
- Deliver exceptional service to supporters and guests, including dealing with customer complaints and resolving issues in a professional manner.
- Promote product knowledge and upselling opportunities.
- Ensure accurate counting and control of food, beverages and disposables.
- Ensure stock is handled securely and replenished accurately throughout service.
- Monitor stock usage during the event and communicate shortages proactively.
- Record wastage, transfers and returns in accordance with training.
- Maintain regular communication with the Concessions Supervisor and management team.
- Communicate shortages, equipment failures and maintenance issues promptly.
- Escalate concerns proactively to minimise disruption to service.
- Lead by example while supporting, motivating, and developing team members.
- Ensure key information is effectively communicated to team members.
- Ensure food safety, hygiene and operational standards are maintained at all times.
- Ensure all required documentation is completed accurately and on time.
- Ensure licensing regulations are followed, with particular attention to Challenge 25 and protecting children from harm.
- Monitor the correct use of PPE, handwashing and food handling procedures.
- Ensure products are served to agreed specifications and brand standards.
- Support stock accuracy and waste reduction initiatives.
- Complete all paperwork accurately and within required timescales.
- Other duties and responsibilities as required by line manager.
- Upholding and promoting the Club’s policies and procedures, including Health and Safety, Safeguarding and Equal Opportunities policies and procedures.
Experience, Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous experience in hospitality, retail, catering, or other fast-paced customer-facing environments.
- Strong communication, leadership, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently, use initiative, and remain calm under pressure.
- Previous team leader or supervisory experience.
- Experience with EPOS systems, cash handling, and stock control.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays
- Personal Licence Holder (desirable)
- Reliable, responsible, and professional, consistently leading by example.
- Positive and supportive, with the ability to motivate others and remain calm under pressure.
