Full job description
Great with customers? Brilliant on the phone? Love getting things right?
We have an exciting opportunity to join our busy Telesales team as a Customer Service & Sales Order Processor.
One of our lovely team members is heading off to pastures new, so we're looking for someone to join the team and help us continue delivering the friendly, responsive and reliable service our customers know us for.
You'll be right at the heart of our customer experience. From taking orders and answering product queries to sorting out delivery issues and making sure everything is entered accurately, you'll be someone our customers can rely on to listen, help and get things sorted. If you enjoy talking to people, solving problems and building great relationships, this could be just the role for you.
Our Customer Service team generally works 7:30am to 4:30pm, but we understand that one working pattern doesn’t suit everyone. We’re happy to consider some flexibility around start and finish times, so if you’re interested in the role but would benefit from a slightly different working pattern, we’d still love to hear from you. We’re open to discussing what could work for you alongside the needs of the team and our customers.
What will you be doing?
There’s plenty of variety. On a typical day, you’ll be:
- Talking to our customers, taking orders and helping with product, availability and delivery queries
- Managing orders and enquiries received by phone and email
- Accurately processing customer orders on our systems
- Checking order details and making sure everything is correct
- Processing changes, additions and cancellations to orders
- Working with different teams across the business to investigate and resolve customer queries
- Taking ownership when something goes wrong and seeing it through to resolution
- Keeping customers updated on changes or delays affecting their orders
- Building positive, long-lasting relationships with our customers
Accuracy is really important too. Our customers depend on us to get their orders right and on time, so you'll play an important part in making that happen.
What are we looking for?
First and foremost, we're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys helping customers. You'll need:
- Excellent communication skills, both over the phone and in writing
- A friendly, confident and professional telephone manner
- Great attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Good computer skills and confidence working with different systems
- A positive, solutions-focused approach to customer service
- The ability to think on your feet and solve problems
- The confidence to take ownership of a customer query and follow it through
- The ability to stay calm, professional and helpful when things get busy
- A reliable and conscientious approach to your work
Previous experience in customer service, sales administration, telesales or order processing would be an advantage. Experience within food wholesale, foodservice or distribution would be helpful too, but it's certainly not essential.
For us, great customer service, communication skills and the ability to work accurately matter more than formal qualifications.
Sound like you? If you're a people person who loves helping customers, enjoys solving problems and takes pride in getting the details right, we'd love to hear from you!
Work-life balance is important to us and we want you to spend time with family, friends and doing things you enjoy.....not just work. This is why we give you 30 days annual leave plus an additional 22 days off across the year, and still earn a full-time salary. Additionally, you will also have access to:
- Our discounted staff purchase scheme on over 4,000 products
- Enhanced family friendly policies
- Cycle to Work and EV Salary Sacrifice Scheme
- Internal Mental Health First Aiders
- Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) including external mental health support and retail discounts
We are committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplace where everyone feels valued and empowered. We welcome applications from all backgrounds and do not discriminate based on age, disability, gender identity, marital status, pregnancy, race, religion, sex, or sexual orientation. If you require any adjustments during the recruitment process, please let us know.
