Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Import Operator to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing import operations, ensuring compliance with regulations, and coordinating with various stakeholders to facilitate smooth supply chain processes. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong background in transportation management systems, logistics, and supply chain management to contribute to a dynamic organisation. The Import Operator will utilise advanced software tools to optimise import activities and support business growth.

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end import processes, including documentation, customs clearance, and delivery coordination.
  • Utilise transportation management systems (TMS) and EDI platforms to track shipments and update relevant data entry records accurately.
  • Coordinate with 3PL providers, freight forwarders, and customs authorities to ensure timely and compliant import operations.
  • Negotiate terms with suppliers, carriers, and service providers to optimise costs and service levels.
  • Monitor supply chain activities, identify potential delays or issues, and implement corrective actions proactively.
  • Utilise CRM software to manage customer relationships related to import activities and provide timely updates.
  • Support data entry tasks related to shipment tracking, inventory updates, and compliance documentation.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in logistics, supply chain management or transportation operations.
  • Strong knowledge of transportation management systems (TMS).
  • Familiarity with CRM software and sales management tools.
  • Experience working with 3PL providers and managing B2B relationships.
  • Excellent negotiation skills combined with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse teams.
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in data entry and documentation processes.
  • Ability to work independently whilst collaborating within a team environment.
