IT Support Technician (1st/2nd Line) – Full Time | On-Site | Runcorn (WA7)

We’re looking for a proactive and customer-focused IT Support Technician to join our growing Managed Service Provider (MSP), part of a wider group of companies. You’ll deliver 1st and 2nd line support to both internal group businesses and external clients, working across a diverse range of systems, users, and environments.

This is an on-site role based in Runcorn, offering hands-on experience in a fast-paced, multi-client setting.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide 1st & 2nd line support to internal users and external clients via phone, email, remote access, and on-site
  • Set up, configure and maintain PCs, laptops, mobile devices, and user accounts (MACD)
  • Support and administer Microsoft 365 environments across multiple customers
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, printers, and connectivity issues
  • Assist with network support (LAN/WAN/WLAN, DNS, DHCP)
  • Support and maintain EPOS and payment terminal systems
  • Work with third-party vendors and telecoms providers where required
  • Maintain system security, backups, and endpoint compliance
  • Contribute to IT projects, rollouts, and client onboarding
  • Accurately log and manage tickets, assets, and software licensing across clients

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in a 1st/2nd line IT support role, ideally within an MSP or multi-site environment
  • Strong knowledge of Windows 10/11 and Microsoft Office
  • Experience with helpdesk/ticketing systems and device builds
  • Good understanding of networking fundamentals and infrastructure
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritise, multitask, and work under pressure across multiple clients
  • A proactive, flexible, and team-oriented attitude

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Microsoft Intune (Endpoint Manager)
  • Familiarity with Sage software
  • Exposure to telecoms/VoIP systems
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Entra (Azure AD) or SharePoint
  • Experience supporting EPOS or payment solutions

Requirements

  • Full UK driving licence
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Ability to commute to or relocate to Runcorn (WA7 3FW)
