Job Type: Full-time / Part-time (depending on experience)

Pedal Back is an independent, female-owned and LGBTQ+ friendly bike shop with a reputation for great service, expert advice, and building an inclusive cycling community. We're looking for an experienced Cycle Mechanic to join our diverse and welcoming team.

This is more than a workshop role. We're looking for someone who enjoys working with people as much as they enjoy working on bikes.

About the Role

You'll be responsible for delivering high-quality repairs and servicing across a wide range of bikes, from everyday commuters and cargo bikes to premium road bikes and e-bikes. You'll also play a key role on the shop floor, helping customers find the right products, components and accessories for their needs.

You'll be expected to manage workshop workflow, maintain high standards of organisation, and help ensure stock levels are accurate and well maintained.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Diagnosing, servicing and repairing a wide range of bicycles and e-bikes
  • Delivering excellent customer service and technical advice
  • Discussing components, upgrades and accessories with customers confidently
  • Managing workshop bookings and workflow efficiently
  • Ensuring repairs are completed to a high standard and on time
  • Monitoring stock levels and identifying replenishment requirements
  • Receiving and checking deliveries
  • Supporting bike builds and quality control processes
  • Contributing to a positive, inclusive and professional team culture

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience as a professional cycle mechanic
  • Strong technical knowledge across modern bicycle components and systems
  • Experience working on e-bikes desirable
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Confidence discussing products, upgrades and maintenance requirements with customers
  • Ability to prioritise workload and manage multiple jobs simultaneously
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to take ownership of tasks
  • Passion for cycling and the cycling community
