Job Description:

As a Sound Technician at Stage & Radio, you will be responsible for managing and operating all audio equipment to ensure top-notch sound quality for live performances, DJ sets, and events. You will work closely with artists, DJs, and event organisers to deliver a seamless audio experience that enhances the overall guest experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Audio Equipment Setup: Set up and test sound equipment, including microphones, speakers, amplifiers, mixers, and other audio gear prior to events.
  • Sound Engineering: Mix and balance audio levels during live performances, ensuring clear and high-quality sound for both performers and audience.
  • Troubleshooting: Quickly diagnose and resolve any audio issues or technical problems that arise during events to minimise disruptions.
  • Maintenance: Regularly inspect, maintain, and repair audio equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with DJs, live performers, and event staff to understand their audio requirements and make adjustments as needed.
  • Event Preparation: Assist with pre-event sound checks and rehearsals to ensure all equipment is functioning correctly and sound levels are set to specifications.
  • Safety: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines related to the operation and maintenance of audio equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Proven experience as a Sound Technician, Audio Engineer, or similar role in a live entertainment or nightclub setting.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of audio equipment, sound mixing techniques, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Attention to Detail: Excellent ear for sound quality and ability to make precise adjustments to audio levels and effects.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to quickly identify and resolve technical issues under pressure.
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with performers, DJs, and team members.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work irregular hours, including nights and weekends, as required by the nightclub's event schedule.

Education and Certifications:

  • Degree or certification in Audio Engineering, Sound Design, or a related field preferred, but not required.
  • Relevant certifications or training in audio equipment operation and maintenance are a plus.
