Full job description

We require an organized, experienced complex care support worker who is passionate and would like to make a difference in care to support our client in school until July 2025. He will require support to transition to adult day services and need to be supported ongoing in his new environments due to his special needs.

The client is a 19-year-old male with severe development delay, learning difficulties, epilepsy and he is mainly nonverbal. He is spoken to in Gujrati and English. He is a wheelchair user physically able to stand and walk but has no awareness of risks around him and he requires the supervision of two support workers. He likes to be very active and ideally you will be physically fit to manage this role safely.

The client lives with his parents and siblings in the family home and culture is very important to them.

You will be supporting with all activities of daily living, personal care and assisting with his therapy/rehabilitation programme including moving and handling.

You will work alongside private and NHS therapists who will provide bespoke training.

Working Hours:

30 hours per week but occasionally additional hours for training

Monday – Friday 9.00am – 15.00pm Term Time

You will be expected to go to the family home if the client is not in school for appointments etc. or in the school holidays

Rates of Pay:

£16.00 per hour

An NVQ Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent is desirable

All posts are subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure with Adult and Child Workforce Barring. Full training will be provided.

A full driving licence is essential.
