Job Title: Sales and Events Manager

Location: Baltic Triangle, Liverpool, UK (with flexibility to work across multiple venues)

Company: Mikhail Hotel and Leisure Group (MHALG)

Salary: £38,000 OTE (£30k base salary + £2k quarterly bonus)

We are currently seeking a dynamic and driven Sales and Events Manager to lead our sales and marketing efforts, focusing on generating events that drive business into our vibrant Liverpool venues.

Role Overview:

As the Sales and Events Manager at MHALG, you will be responsible for leading a team, including a Sales Executive, to develop and implement effective sales strategies and event-driven campaigns. Your primary focus will be on generating and managing events both internally and with external agencies to attract customers to our Liverpool venues in the Baltic Triangle, including ArCains, Hot Shots, Punch Tarmey's, The Brewery Tap, Jacaranda Baltic, and The Courtyard. You will demonstrate effectiveness in growing sales at both B2B and B2C levels, build a local network of key businesses in the Liverpool area, and leverage your contacts to increase awareness of MHALG's Baltic venues.

Key Responsibilities:

· Inbound Enquiry Management

  • Ensure prompt and professional handling of all inbound enquiries across multiple channels, including phone, email, and online platforms.
  • Develop a streamlined process to prioritise and respond to enquiries, ensuring a high conversion rate of leads into confirmed bookings while maintaining exceptional customer service standards.
  • Implement tools such as CRM systems to track and manage enquiries efficiently, providing insights into response times and customer interaction trends.
  • Event Generation and Management:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive event strategy to attract both corporate and private bookings, focusing on maximising occupancy and revenue across all Liverpool venues.
  • Organise live music and DJ-led ticketed events, both internally and in collaboration with external promoters, to attract diverse audiences and drive business.
  • Identify and collaborate with external agencies, event planners, and corporate partners to drive business through innovative events and promotions.
  • Oversee the end-to-end management of events, ensuring seamless coordination between internal teams and external partners.
  • Create detailed function sheets for all events, outlining Food & Beverage requirements, equipment needs, and other essential details to ensure smooth operations.
  • Event Delivery:
  • Be the primary on-the-ground contact for key clients during events, ensuring flawless execution and an exceptional guest experience.
  • Work closely with venue teams to manage the setup, operation, and breakdown of events, maintaining high standards of service and client satisfaction.
  • Anticipate and promptly resolve any issues that arise during events to ensure client expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Collaboration with Group BDM:
  • Partner closely with the Group Business Development Manager (BDM) to organise and deliver events that have been generated by the BDM.
  • Ensure all logistical aspects of events are meticulously planned and executed, aligning with the business objectives set by the Group BDM.
  • Coordinate with the Group BDM to provide feedback and insights on event performance, contributing to the continuous improvement of event strategies.
  • Sales Strategy and Execution:
  • Lead and manage the sales team to effectively convert leads into confirmed bookings, maximising the revenue potential of each venue.
  • Drive the development of sales proposals, contracts, and agreements, ensuring compliance with company standards and client expectations.
  • Monitor sales performance, providing regular reports and insights to senior management on key metrics, trends, and areas for improvement.
  • Business Development & Networking:
  • Actively build and maintain a professional network within the hospitality, entertainment, and corporate sectors, leveraging platforms like LinkedIn to identify and connect with potential clients and collaborators.
  • Proactively drive new business opportunities by engaging with local enterprises, forming partnerships, and fostering relationships with key decision-makers.
  • Use LinkedIn for targeted lead generation, sharing engaging content, and promoting events to a professional audience, driving interest and awareness for MHALG venues. Experience in using LinkedIn for lead generation and networking is highly beneficial.
  • Represent MHALG at industry events, networking forums, and local business gatherings to foster relationships, secure partnerships, and stay updated on industry trends and opportunities.
  • Email / CRM Marketing:
  • Working closely with the marketing department to develop and manage scheduled email campaigns to inform customers of upcoming events, promotions, and special offers at our venues.
  • Advise on segmentation of mailing lists to target specific audiences effectively and personalise communication to enhance engagement and conversion rates.
  • Experience using email marketing platforms such as Klaviyo, Mailchimp, or Airship is beneficial.
  • Creative Initiatives and Market Leadership:
  • Utilise your creativity and initiative to develop unique marketing and event concepts that position our venues as leading destinations in Liverpool.
  • Continuously innovate to ensure our venues stay at the forefront of market trends and deliver exceptional experiences to our guests.
  • Team Leadership and Development:
  • Mentor and manage the Sales and Digital Marketing Executive, providing guidance and support to ensure their professional growth and success.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive team environment, encouraging innovation, creativity, and high standards of performance.
  • Hold regular meetings with your team to communicate new business opportunities and discuss booking strategies.
  • Reporting and Communication:
  • Report back on a weekly basis to management, providing detailed updates on sales performance, event outcomes, and market trends.
  • Prepare and present reports on event metrics, including attendee feedback, revenue generated, and lessons learned for future improvements.
  • Market Research and Competitor Analysis:
  • Conduct thorough market research and competitor analysis to stay ahead of industry trends and identify new opportunities for growth and differentiation.
  • Utilise insights from market analysis to inform event planning, pricing strategies, and promotional activities.
  • Client Relationship Management:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and partners, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Proactively seek feedback from clients and guests to continuously improve service delivery and event offerings.

Qualifications:

  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a sales and events management role, preferably within the hospitality or leisure sector.
  • Proven track record in generating and managing events, with a strong network of contacts within the industry.
  • Experience in organising and promoting events is highly beneficial.
  • Knowledge of Access Group systems such as Collins and DMN is preferred; familiarity with the Roller and SevenRooms booking systems is a bonus.
  • Experience using both Skiddle and Eventbrite for ticketing would be beneficial.
  • Experience using email marketing platforms such as Klaviyo, Mailchimp, or Airship.
  • Skills:
  • Good time management and work from one’s own initiative is essential.
  • Exceptional organisational and multitasking skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, partners, and lead team members.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to interpret data and develop actionable insights.
  • Good IT and system knowledge, including SharePoint/ MS Suite, Excel.
  • Familiarity with booking systems (such as Collins and Roller) and CRM software preferred.
  • Experience utilising LinkedIn and other professional networks for lead generation and business development.
