Full job description

Damp-Proofing Technician / Multitrade

Immediate Start | Experienced & Skilled Tradespeople Wanted

We’re looking for an experienced and reliable Damp-Proofing Technician / Damp-Proof Plasterer to join our growing team, with an immediate start available.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced tradesperson looking for regular additional work, new projects, or the opportunity to become part of a professional and expanding team.

The Role

You’ll be carrying out a range of damp-proofing and remedial works, from preparation through to the application of specialist treatments.

Depending on the job, you may also be required to carry out preparatory and enabling works, such as removing boxing, skirting boards, radiators, plug sockets and other fixtures before remedial treatments begin.

These tasks won’t be required on every project, but we’re looking for someone who is practical, capable and confident working across different aspects of a job, rather than someone who only wants to carry out one specific task.

Key Skills & Experience

We’re particularly interested in candidates with experience in:

  • Hacking off existing wall plaster and preparing surfaces for remedial treatment.
  • Drilling and injecting chemical DPC cream and other chemical damp-proofing treatments.
  • Correct damp-proofing plaster/render mixes and ratios.
  • Using and applying damp-proofing chemicals safely and effectively.
  • Installing physical damp-proofing membrane systems.
  • Installing structural cavity drain membrane systems, including sumps and pumps.
  • Woodworm treatment and timber preservation.
  • General remedial building and plastering skills.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Experienced in damp-proofing and/or remedial plastering.
  • A confident and competent plasterer with good attention to detail.
  • Practical and capable of carrying out preparation work when required.
  • Reliable, hardworking and professional.
  • Able to work independently while maintaining a high standard of workmanship.
  • Keen to develop their skills and take pride in producing quality work.

Training Available

Don’t have experience in every area listed? That’s not necessarily a problem.

We’re happy to provide training and support to the right person. If you have a strong background in plastering, building or a related trade and are keen to specialise in damp-proofing, we’d be interested in hearing from you.

Experienced damp-proofing technicians are especially encouraged to apply.

Interested?

If you’re an experienced tradesperson who takes pride in their work and is looking for consistent opportunities, varied projects and the chance to work as part of a growing team, we’d love to hear from you.

Immediate start available.

Pay: £40,000.00-£70,000.00 per year

Experience:

  • Plastering: 1 year (required)

Licence/Certification:

  • Driving Licence (required)

Location:

  • South London, Greater London (preferred)
