Job Title: Damp Operative Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Damp Operative Engineer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of damp diagnosis and treatment methods, a commitment to quality workmanship, and a proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and treat various types of damp issues, including rising damp, penetrating damp, and condensation.
  • Carry out damp proofing treatments such as cavity wall injection, installation of damp proof courses, and application of waterproof membranes.
  • Perform timber treatments to address woodworm and dry rot.
  • Implement condensation control measures, including ventilation improvements.
  • Conduct damp surveys and prepare detailed reports, including recommendations and cost estimates.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with UK building regulations and industry best practices.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations on site.

Qualifications (Desired):

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Damp Proofing or a related field
  • Property Care Association (PCA) Certificated Surveyor in Remedial Treatments (CSRT)
  • BDMA Technician or IICRC training
  • Proven experience in the damp proofing industry

Experience:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in damp proofing and related maintenance work.
  • Proven track record in diagnosing and treating various types of damp issues.
  • Experience with cavity wall injection, rising damp treatment, condensation control, and/or timber treatment.
  • Familiarity with UK building regulations and industry standards related to damp proofing.
  • Experience in damp profiling, preparing reports, and compiling estimates.

Skills:

  • Excellent practical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £39.05-£67.45 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
