About Us

A1 Damp Proofing is a well-established and highly regarded specialist contractor based in Bootle, Liverpool. We deliver expert damp proofing, structural repairs, cellar conversions, and remedial treatments to domestic and commercial properties across Merseyside. As our workload continues to grow, we are looking to bring on a reliable, multi-skilled tradesman to complement our specialist teams and ensure our customers receive a complete, high-quality finish on every job.

The Role

You will work alongside our damp proofing and structural repair teams, carrying out associated trade works once specialist treatments are complete. This is a hands-on, varied role suited to someone who takes pride in their work, can use their initiative on site, and is comfortable working across multiple disciplines.

No two days are the same — you could be re-fitting a bathroom one day and rehanging doors or making good after a damp treatment the next.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out domestic plumbing works including pipework, repairs, and bathroom fitting
• First and second fix joinery — door hanging, skirting, architraves, stud walling, and timber repairs
• General building works including blockwork, brickwork repairs, and internal alterations
• Making good after damp proofing and structural repair works
• Plastering and patch rendering where required (desirable but not essential)
• Liaising professionally with customers on site
• Maintaining a clean, safe working environment

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience across at least two of the core trades listed above
• Ability to work independently and manage your own time on site
• Reliable, punctual, and presentable — our reputation matters to us
• Full UK driving licence (essential)
• Own tools preferred
• Strong communication skills and a customer-friendly manner
• NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent trade qualifications (desirable)
• CSCS card (desirable)
