Full job description
Duties
- Measure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, and other materials according to specifications
- Assemble and join materials using nails, screws, staples, or adhesives
- Install cabinets, doors, windows, and other wooden fixtures
- Repair or replace damaged wooden parts in structures or furniture
- Basic plumbing - removing and refitting radiators
- Grouting and resealing baths
- Follow blueprints and building plans to meet client requirements
- Ensure that all work meets safety and quality standards
Skills
- Proficient in using power tools such as saws, drills, and sanders
- Knowledge of carpentry techniques and joinery methods
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Strong attention to detail and precision in measurements and cuts
- Experience with electrical work for installing lighting fixtures or wiring is a plus
- Capability to lift heavy materials and perform physically demanding tasks
- Familiarity with masonry, plumbing, roofing, painting, and fabrication is advantageous
As a Joiner, you will be responsible for constructing and repairing various wooden structures. Your skills in carpentry and joinery will be utilized to create functional and aesthetically pleasing pieces. You will work with a variety of materials and power tools to complete projects according to specifications.
To excel in this role, you should have a strong understanding of carpentry techniques and be able to read blueprints. Attention to detail is crucial as precision is required for accurate measurements and cuts. Additionally, the ability to lift heavy materials and perform physically demanding tasks is necessary.
If you have experience with electrical work or other related skills such as masonry, plumbing, roofing, painting, or fabrication, it would be considered an asset.
This job is predominantly working in social housing, working on void properties with some private work as well.

Pay: From £120.00 per hour
