Our reputation for delivering high-quality services in damp proofing, condensation control, and mould treatment has made us a trusted name within the industry. We are now looking to expand our team with a dedicated and experienced Damp Specialist.
Job Description:
As a Damp Specialist, you will be responsible for diagnosing, treating, and preventing damp-related issues in residential and commercial properties. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring that our clients' properties are safeguarded against damp and its associated problems. This role requires a hands-on approach and a thorough understanding of various damp-related issues, including rising damp, penetrating damp, and condensation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough surveys of properties to identify damp issues, including rising damp, penetrating damp, and condensation problems.
- Prepare detailed reports on findings, including recommendations for treatment and preventative measures.
- Apply damp proofing treatments, such as damp proof courses, tanking, and chemical injections.
- Carry out associated repairs, including plastering, rendering, and other remedial works.
- Install ventilation systems to address condensation issues where necessary.
- Provide expert advice to clients on damp prevention and maintenance.
- Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and complies with relevant health and safety regulations.
- Keep accurate records of all work carried out, including materials used and time spent on each job.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices, tools, and techniques.
- Work both independently and as part of a team to ensure the successful completion of projects.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Damp Specialist or in a similar role within the property maintenance or preservation industry.
- Strong understanding of the causes and treatments of damp, including rising damp, penetrating damp, and condensation.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment related to damp detection and treatment.
- Skilled in carrying out remedial works, including plastering, rendering, and brickwork.
- Knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to clients.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload effectively.
- Full UK driving licence.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £25,000.00 per year
Experience:
- Plastering: 3 years (preferred)
- Bricklaying: 1 year (preferred)
- Masonry: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- CSCS (preferred)
- Driving Licence (preferred)
