Full job description

Aurum Talent Academy, the elite training division of Aurum Talent Agency, is seeking a dynamic and highly experienced Musical Theatre & Dance Teacher to join our core faculty for our upcoming 10-Week Autumn Intensive starting in September

Operating out of the world-class studios at The Place in London, our academy delivers high-octane, triple-threat training to the next generation of stage and screen performers. We do not just train; we build future stars. Your ultimate objective in this role will be to choreograph and rigorously prepare our students for a grand finale Junior Show, which will be performed live on stage at The Other Palace in Victoria, London. This also includes MT Training with the script for our Junior Show at the end of the 10 weeks intensive.

This is a fast-paced, highly rewarding role perfect for an active industry professional passionate about youth development and commercial-standard staging.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Deliver Elite Choreography: Plan, choreograph, and teach high-energy Musical Theatre dance routines tailored to the specific capabilities of our four age brackets: Minis (3–6), Juniors (7–10), Inters (11–15), and Seniors (16–21).
  • Showcase Preparation: Rigorously drill and stage ensemble numbers, ensuring all performers hit their marks, understand stage directions, and are performance-ready for a professional West End stage environment.
  • Manage Rotational Blocks: Teach four highly focused 75-minute rotational blocks per Saturday, adapting your teaching style dynamically as different age groups cycle through your studio.
  • Foster Confidence: Build a highly supportive, disciplined, and inclusive environment that pushes young performers out of their comfort zones while protecting their wellbeing.
  • Collaborate with Faculty: Work closely with the Vocal Coach and Acting (Film & TV) tutors to ensure a cohesive creative vision for the final showcase.

Skills, Experience & Requirements

  • Industry Pedigree: Significant professional experience as a performer or choreographer in Musical Theatre (West End, UK Tours, or high-level Fringe).
  • Youth Teaching Experience: Proven ability to command a large room (up to 30 students per group) and translate complex choreography into accessible, age-appropriate steps.
  • Stamina & Energy: The ability to sustain high energy, enthusiasm, and vocal projection across a full 6-hour intensive teaching day.
  • Punctuality & Professionalism: A strong commitment to arriving early for setup (8:30 AM call time) and maintaining the premium standard of the Aurum brand.
  • Safeguarding Compliance: An enhanced DBS check (on the update service) is required, alongside a commitment to strict zero-tolerance safeguarding policies.

Schedule & Commitment

  • Working Hours: Saturdays, 8:30 AM to 3:15 PM (Classes run 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM).
  • Term Dates: The 10-week intensive launches on Saturday, 12th September 2026. (Note: There are scheduled academy breaks on 26th September and 31st October where no classes take place).
  • Showcase Weekend: Must be fully available for the technical rehearsals and live performances on Saturday 28th & Sunday 29th November 2026.
