Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Commercial or Street Dance Teacher to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging dance classes and choreography that inspire our intermediate and advanced students age 12 - 18 years working towards competitions and events . This role offers an excellent opportunity to share your expertise, foster creativity, and promote physical activity through dance. The position is paid and suitable for both experienced professionals and aspiring instructors eager to develop their teaching skills in a vibrant environment.

Duties

  • Plan and deliver high-energy dance classes and choreography, specialising in commercial and street dance styles.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and motivating atmosphere that encourages student participation and confidence
  • Demonstrate dance techniques clearly, providing constructive feedback to help students improve their skills
  • Organise choreography for performances, showcases, or competitions as required
  • Maintain a safe environment by ensuring proper warm-up routines and adherence to health and safety guidelines
  • Assist with organising class schedules, promotional events, and community outreach activities
  • Keep up-to-date with current dance trends and incorporate innovative teaching methods into classes
  • Support the studio’s organisational needs by maintaining class records and communicating effectively with students and staff

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in commercial or street dance styles, with a strong portfolio of performances or teaching experience
  • Relevant qualifications or certifications in dance instruction are desirable but not essential
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate diverse groups of students
  • Creativity in choreography and lesson planning to keep classes engaging and fresh
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit different learning styles and abilities
  • A professional attitude with punctuality, organisation, and reliability as core attributes
  • Passion for dance and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment
