This position is with Profast Ltd. The role forms part of an Innovation Boost project supported by InterTradeIreland. Salary support under the programme is provided for 18 months; however, the employment contract is with Profast Ltd and is not limited to the funding period.
The Company is a Belfast-based hardware manufacturer and supplier of fasteners, fixings, and architectural hardware to the construction, manufacturing, and engineering sectors.
Established in 1976, the company operates primarily in Northern Ireland and serves a broad B2B customer base across industrial and commercial markets. The Company provides dependable fixing solutions to support building projects and manufacturing operations, with a strong emphasis on service reliability. The Company continues to invest in operational efficiency and digital transformation to support sustainable growth and improved customer outcomes.
Job Description
The successful candidate will lead a business wide programme focused on improving operational data, warehouse processes and procurement systems. The primary objective is to cleanse, standardise and govern business data to improve inventory accuracy, purchasing decisions and operational efficiency.
The role will work closely with warehouse, procurement and commercial teams to improve product master data, bin location accuracy, supplier information, reorder parameters, lead times and inventory optimisation. The successful candidate will also support the implementation of Power BI and other digital tools by ensuring the business has reliable, structured and accurate data.
A key element of the role will be identifying opportunities for Lean continuous improvement, process automation and AI enabled decision support. Rather than developing AI systems from scratch, the role will create the operational and data foundations required for future AI technologies to deliver measurable value.
The successful graduate will lead this project, in a supportive partnership with Technological University of the Shannon as part of the InterTradeIreland Innovation Boost Programme.
There is potential for this role to become permanent following successful project delivery.
