  • Carry out structured cabling installations, fault finding and cable tracing.
  • Provide MAC and desktop support activities including device deployments, patching and desk moves.
  • Support end-user technology and peripheral installations.
  • Maintain accurate asset, inventory and service records.
  • Manage and update tickets within service management systems.
  • Support technology room inspections, audits and housekeeping activities.
  • Provide general operational and administrative support to the wider Managed Services team when required.
  • Assist with maintaining and updating records, information and day-to-day documentation using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Support day-to-day coordination activities and administrative requirements during periods of engineering downtime.
  • Work effectively across both data centre and corporate/end-user environments, adapting your approach to the client and location.
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with client processes, SLAs, Health & Safety and Quality standards.
  • Escalate risks, incidents and service issues appropriately.
  • Contribute to a positive team culture and support wider ONNEC activities when required.

What we're looking for in our Managed Services Cover Engineer:

  • Relevant experience working within Data Centre, IT Infrastructure or Managed Services environments.
  • Structured cabling installation, testing and fault-finding experience.
  • Knowledge of copper and fibre cabling standards.
  • Experience supporting enterprise IT hardware and infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of asset management and ticketing systems.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills with good attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Confidence working within both technical and professional corporate environments.
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
  • A professional, adaptable and customer-focused approach.
  • Flexibility to travel between different client locations and work varying shift patterns.
  • A valid driving licence.
