This role is ideal for someone with a good awareness of information security principles, strong communication skills, and the ability to work with integrity, independence and professionalism in a fast-moving environment.

What you’ll do:

  • Part of the IS&R Team that supports maintenance of the Information Security Management System, ensuring it meets the requirements for maintaining compliance to ISO27001.

  • Facilitate internal security compliance activities.
  • Maintain the security management plan for client security assurance.
  • Coordinate and manage information security incidents in accordance with organisational policy.
  • Advise and assist business areas on information security, resilience and compliance issues, and promote awareness of good practice.
  • Contribute to information security training and awareness materials as directed.
  • Support the wider Information Security & Resilience Team function.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in respect of audit and related security management matters.
  • Maintain knowledge of current security, legal and regulatory practice and developments, and proactively propose any changes to policies, procedures and practices that may be required.

What you’ll bring to the table:

  • Experience of working within an information security team or compliance function.
  • An understanding of information security risk faced by data-driven organisations.
  • Ability to conduct the role with a large degree of independence and integrity.
  • An understanding of industry information security standards (e.g., ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials).
  • An understanding of HMG / National Cyber Security Centre information security policies and information assurance governance.
  • Professional qualifications aligned to the role and level (ISO 27001 Lead Implementer/Auditor, CISM, CISA, CCP), or willingness to achieve required certifications with a targeted development plan.

Minimum Criteria:

✅Good awareness of information security, compliance or risk principles

✅Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage with a range of stakeholders

✅Excellent attention to detail and the ability to follow agreed processes to deliver consistent, compliant outcomes

✅ Ability to work with integrity, independence and professionalism

✅ A flexible approach to working hours and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment

  • A good understanding of new technologies and their relationship with security, privacy and resilience.
  • Understanding of UK Data Protection legislation.
