Christmas Installer & Decorator – Seasonal

£14.50–£18.00 per hour | Full-Time & Part-Time Seasonal Team Member & Team Leader Positions

Based in East Kilbride | Installations throughout Glasgow, Edinburgh & across Scotland

Join Scotland’s Professional Christmas Installation Team

The Designer Christmas Company is recruiting reliable, hardworking and practically minded people to join our installation team for the 2026 Christmas season.

We design and professionally install luxury Christmas displays for residential properties, businesses, hospitality venues, shopping centres and commercial clients throughout Scotland.

This is not a retail Christmas job.

This is a hands-on installation role involving Christmas trees, lighting, garlands, wreaths, exterior displays and large-scale festive installations.

You’ll be working in different locations, both indoors and outdoors, as part of a fast-moving professional installation team.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll work alongside our installation team to:

  • Install professionally designed Christmas trees, garlands, wreaths, lighting and festive displays.
  • Install exterior Christmas lighting and decorations.
  • Dress and decorate Christmas trees and large-scale displays.
  • Use ladders, hand tools and basic power tools where appropriate.
  • Load and unload vehicles and prepare equipment for installations.
  • Work safely at height and outdoors in different weather conditions.
  • Travel to client sites throughout Glasgow, Edinburgh and across Scotland.
  • Work respectfully in luxury residential properties and professional commercial environments.
  • Assist with removal and dismantling of installations after the festive period.
  • Keep installations, equipment and client sites clean, organised and presentable.

Who We’re Looking For

You don’t necessarily need previous Christmas installation experience — we’ll provide training to the right people.

We’re particularly interested in hearing from:

Event Crew & Event Installers, Visual Merchandisers, Florists & Floral Designers, Joiners & Handymen, Exhibition / Set-Build Crews, Lighting Installers, Landscapers, Property Maintenance Operatives, Tradespeople, Drivers / Installation Crew

Previous experience in Christmas installation, events, visual merchandising, floristry, construction, joinery, exhibition installation or another hands-on role would be a significant advantage.

You’ll Need To Be

  • Reliable and punctual.
  • Physically fit and comfortable with a hands-on role.
  • Comfortable working from ladders and at height.
  • Happy working both indoors and outdoors.
  • Prepared for early starts, late finishes and occasional long installation days during our busiest period.
  • Flexible regarding evenings and weekends.
  • Comfortable travelling throughout Scotland and beyond when required.
  • Able to follow a design brief and pay close attention to detail.
  • Professional and respectful when working at client properties.
  • A strong team player who can also use their own initiative.

A full UK driving licence is highly desirable, particularly if you’re comfortable driving vans.

Experience using hand tools and power tools is also highly desirable.
