Tutor / Trainer of Apprentice Painters & Decorators

Are you looking for an exciting new opportunity to upskill Apprentice Painters & Decorators working hard to become skilled tradesmen, are you hardworking, reliable and patient with excellent organisational skills? If you are, you might be exactly who we are looking for!

We have the perfect opportunity for you to join us and develop this new role with our current and incoming apprentices who are working with us to become skilled tradesmen. We are one of the largest privately owned and managed painting and maintenance contractors in the UK and have been trading since 1899.

We understand the value of enhancing our workforce by cultivating new apprentices year in year out. Our apprentices work alongside our operatives covering a multitude of work streams on Schools, Colleges, Universities, public sector buildings they also cover large scale Cyclical Redecoration Contracts of housing stock across Liverpool and the North West area.

We work are looking for the ideal person to support our current and incoming cohort of apprentice painters and decorators. This is a unique role, which would suit a qualified painter and decorator who has some previous teaching experience, who is reliable, organised, patient and willing to share their experience and skill with others.

Our Apprentices work on site 4 days per week and attend college 1 day per week. The successful applicant will work alongside our apprentices during their three year apprenticeship to ensure achievement of NVQ Level 2

Principle Duties

  • You will be working with our apprentices both in our unit and on our sites - to ensure that our apprentices become skilled in all aspects of painting and decorating through the work they are completing, by training them up with all the skills required to become well rounded successful painters and decorators.
  • You will work with the apprentices to ensure that they are gathering the required evidence when on site to support the units required by college.
  • You will work with us to undertake regular apprentice reviews, to ensure that our apprentices are on track to achieve their qualification.

Essential Skills

  • You will hold a NVQ Level 2 / 3 qualification in Painting & Decorating
  • You will posses a full understanding of all aspects of the field of Painting & Decorating underpinned by relevant industrial experience.
  • You will hold a full clean uk driving licence
  • You will hold a PTTLS certificate
  • You will be confident communicating with others.
  • You will have great organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work individually with our apprentices and effectively as part of a team.
