The Role

We are currently looking for a Painter and Decorator to join our property team. The role is a dual location role spending 2 sometimes 3 days a week in our Sign Shop and the remainder of the week out in trade in Public Houses and Hotels throughout our estate.

Key responsibilities:

• Preparing sign surfaces with sanding and cleaning techniques in our sign shop
• Applying paints and varnishes to a finished quality for sign writing. Full training will be provided.
• Assisting with signage installation
• Undertaking painting and decorating tasks across our pubs and hotels in kitchens, bathrooms, hallways, private accommodation, guest rooms, trade areas and any such area as required by management schedules to a high standard.
• Preparing surfaces (sanding, filling, priming) to ensure high quality finish in our pubs and hotels including some external work.
• Completing small pre paint repairs and wear and tear repairs to decorative surfaces including bannisters, skirting, and windows.
• Managing tasks like wallpaper removal, wallpapering and contributing to painting projects as part of larger works.
• Selecting appropriate materials and techniques to match organization standards and specifications and assisting with procurement.
• Following health and safety guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
• Ensuring Painting/Decorating areas clean and tidy at all times and other surfaces are protected during works.

The Person
We are ideally looking for someone who has the following qualities, qualifications and or experience.

• Proven experience as a painter/decorator, ideally in a customer facing role
• NVQ level 2 in Painting and Decorating preferred but not essential
• A full UK driving licence
• Positive, can do attitude
• Someone who is a great team player but also able to work alone where required
• Flexible and willing to undertake different tasks
