Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated Trainee Dental Nurse to join our dental practice. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity to develop essential skills in patient care and dental procedures whilst gaining valuable experience in a professional healthcare environment. The role involves supporting dentists and dental hygienists, ensuring smooth clinic operations, and providing high-quality patient service. The position is paid and suitable for individuals looking to start their career in dental nursing.

Duties

  • Assisting dentists during various dental procedures, including preparing equipment and materials
  • Providing support to patients before, during, and after treatment to ensure comfort and reassurance
  • Maintaining a clean and sterile environment by following infection control protocols
  • Organising and managing patient records and appointment schedules efficiently
  • Handling administrative tasks such as updating patient information using IT systems
  • Ensuring the dental surgery is well-stocked with necessary supplies and equipment
  • Communicating effectively with patients, team members, and external suppliers
  • Supporting the team with general administrative duties as required

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of patient care principles and a genuine interest in healthcare and dentistry
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
  • Good IT skills for managing digital records and appointment systems
  • Ability to work well within a team and demonstrate professional behaviour at all times
  • Previous experience in nursing or healthcare is advantageous but not essential
