Upholstery Development Lead

Based at Huncoat, Nr Accrington

Pay Rate negotiable DOE + Company Benefits.

We are currently looking to recruit a skilled and detail-oriented Upholstery Development Lead to join our product development team. You will play a key role in creating, testing, and refining bespoke upholstered products, ensuring they meet the highest standards of comfort, durability, and design.

This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with designers, engineers, and production teams to bring innovative seating and furniture solutions to life.

The Role:

  • Develop and build upholstery prototypes from concept through to production.
  • Create patterns, templates, and technical specifications.
  • Select and evaluate fabrics, foams, leathers, and other materials.
  • Conduct testing for comfort, durability, and performance.
  • Identify and resolve design or manufacturing issues.
  • Collaborate with design, engineering, and manufacturing teams.
  • Support the transition of new products into production.
  • Maintain documentation for development processes and specifications.

The Person:

  • Proven experience in upholstery, furniture development, or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of upholstery techniques, materials, and construction.
  • Skilled in patternmaking, sewing, and prototype development.
  • High attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Must possess a problem-solving mentality with a positive attitude.
