Shape the products that power the event industry.
We’re looking for a technically confident, commercially aware problem-solver who understands the demands of professional event environments.
Prolight Concepts Group is looking for an ambitious, technically minded Product Developer to join our growing team and play a key role in taking products from initial concept through to market. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who understands professional event technology, enjoys solving technical challenges, and wants to have a genuine influence on the products used by professionals around the world.
About Prolight Concepts Group:
Prolight Concepts Group is an international distributor serving the global event industry. We supply professional solutions across entertainment, live events, theatre, broadcasting, installation and leisure markets. Known for our innovation, quality and industry expertise, we work with a global network of partners to bring reliable, high-performance products to professional users worldwide. As a growing, family-owned business, we combine the agility and creativity of an entrepreneurial company with the ambition to continually improve and expand our product portfolio.
The Opportunity:
- As Product Developer, you’ll be at the heart of our product strategy. From evaluating new ideas and developing prototypes through to testing, troubleshooting, refinement and launch, you’ll take ownership of ensuring our products deliver where it matters most: in the real world.
- You’ll work closely with Sales, Purchasing and Marketing, bringing technical insight into commercial decision-making and helping turn market opportunities into successful products.
- This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys getting into the detail, finding solutions and seeing an idea become a finished product.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Leading product development from initial concept through testing, refinement and launch.
- Evaluating and quality-checking new and existing products to ensure they meet professional standards.
- Conducting hands-on product testing, fault-finding and technical troubleshooting.
- Identifying opportunities to improve product performance, reliability, usability and value.
- Working collaboratively with Sales, Marketing and Purchasing to align technical development with customer and market requirements.
- Providing technical product training and knowledge to internal teams and external partners.
- Keeping up to date with emerging technologies, industry trends and competitor products.
- Helping maintain a competitive and forward-thinking product portfolio.
- Building strong relationships with manufacturers and development partners to drive product quality and continuous improvement.
You’ll ideally bring:
- A proven technical background within the event, entertainment or professional AV industry.
- Hands-on experience in product development, engineering, technical operations or a related discipline.
- A strong understanding of one or more relevant areas, such as electronics, mechanical design, software integration, materials or product engineering.
- Experience working within live events, production, theatre, broadcasting, installation or other technical environments.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a practical approach to finding solutions.
- Strong project management and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively across different teams.
- A proactive, detail-focused mindset and a genuine passion for technology and innovation.
- Most importantly, you’ll be someone who asks questions, gets hands-on, spots opportunities and wants to make things better.
What We Offer:
We want our people to enjoy what they do and have the opportunity to grow with the business. In return, you’ll receive:
- Competitive salary, commensurate with experience and skills.
- 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
- Permanent position, following successful completion of probation.
- 33 days’ annual leave, including your birthday (after a full year of service) and bank holidays.
- Company pension scheme.
- Company staff engagement days.
- Free on-site parking.
- Ongoing opportunities for training, development and career progression.
- The opportunity to work with an exciting portfolio of professional products and technologies.
Why Join Us?
This isn’t simply a role in product development. It’s an opportunity to help shape the products that power the event industry. You’ll work on a diverse range of products, collaborate with experienced industry professionals and have the freedom to bring your ideas and technical expertise to the table.
As part of a growing, family-owned business, you’ll have the opportunity to make a visible impact — influencing products, improving customer experiences and helping drive the next stage of our growth.
If you’re technically curious, commercially minded and excited by the idea of turning great ideas into exceptional products, we’d love to hear from you.
Ready to Make an Impact?
If you’re ready for your next challenge and want to play a key role in the development of products used by professionals across the global event industry, we’d love to hear from you.
Please send your CV and a covering letter outlining your experience and what excites you about the role to:
