This is a contract opportunity based in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England, where you could support the design, deployment and optimisation of cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines. Roles of this type may involve working with modern containerisation, orchestration and infrastructure-as-code practices to enable development teams to deliver software more reliably and at pace. You could collaborate with engineering teams to implement automation, improve deployment efficiency and maintain system reliability across hybrid or multi-cloud environments.

What you would do

Typical responsibilities could include:

  • Supporting the design and implementation of CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
  • Managing containerised applications using Docker and Kubernetes
  • Provisioning and managing cloud infrastructure on Azure, AWS or Google Cloud Platform
  • Writing infrastructure-as-code using tools such as Terraform
  • Monitoring system performance, troubleshooting infrastructure issues and implementing reliability improvements
  • Collaborating with development teams to streamline deployment processes and reduce time-to-market
  • Maintaining security, compliance and best practices across infrastructure and deployments
  • Contributing to documentation and knowledge-sharing across engineering teams

What you could bring

Most roles of this type require the following:

Must-have

  • Practical experience with CI/CD platforms and deployment automation
  • Working knowledge of containerisation (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)
  • Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform (Azure, AWS or GCP)
  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform
  • Understanding of Linux and/or Windows system administration
  • Experience with scripting or automation using Bash, Python or similar languages
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field

Nice-to-have

  • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or equivalent certification
  • Experience with SAP infrastructure or enterprise systems
  • Knowledge of microservices architectures and distributed systems
  • Exposure to monitoring and observability tools
  • Master's degree in Computer Science or related discipline
