Job Overview
Here at The Dial - Home of Meantime - we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Bars Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our bar and beverage services. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for hospitality, and extensive experience in food and drink service. This role involves managing staff, ensuring excellent customer experiences, and maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. The successful applicant will play a key role in creating a welcoming environment while driving the success of our establishment.

Venue Operations

  • Open and close the venue alongside the GM/AGM, following company procedures.
  • Oversee daily setup and breakdown, ensuring the venue is service-ready.
  • Support the smooth running of service across both floors and bars.
  • Ensure health & safety, licensing, and hygiene standards are always maintained.

Team Leadership

  • Supervise bartenders, barbacks, food runners, and hosts during service.
  • Lead pre-service briefings when required, updating the team on bookings, events, and priorities.
  • Act as the first point of contact for staff queries during shifts.
  • Support training by reinforcing company service standards and operational procedures.

Customer Experience

  • Be a visible presence on the floor, ensuring excellent hospitality at all times.
  • Handle guest complaints or service issues professionally, escalating to GM/AGM where needed.
  • Monitor service flow, stepping in where necessary to maintain standards.

Admin & Reporting

  • Assist with cashing-up, stock control, and venue checks when required.
  • Report maintenance, staffing, or operational issues promptly to management.
  • Contribute to end-of-shift handovers and ensure smooth communication between teams.

Skills & Experience

  • Previous supervisory or senior team member experience in hospitality, ideally in a busy bar, restaurant, or live events venue.
  • Confident leading a team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Good knowledge of licensing laws, health & safety, and food hygiene standards.
  • Hands-on, adaptable, and calm under pressure.
