Full job description
Brief overview of the role
Do you want a role where you learn sales, marketing and customer success in one place — not just theory, but by doing real work that directly grows a company? Unitu is looking for a confident, ambitious apprentice to work directly with our CEO across marketing campaigns, outreach and customer engagement. You will not be making tea or stuck on one repetitive task: you will run real campaigns, speak to real prospects, and see the direct results of your work.
Working week:
Monday to Friday, [9am–5pm / 37.5 hours per week]
Salary:
£16–18K per annum
Location:
Remote but will need to attend the office regularly so will need to live within the local area.
The role
This is a genuinely varied commercial role built around three areas. Marketing is the core of the role and of your apprenticeship training; sales outreach and customer work give you commercial skills most marketing apprentices never develop.
1. Marketing (the core of your role — approx. 60%)
- Create and publish content for our LinkedIn company and personal pages, and manage our social media presence
- Write, publish and promote blog posts aligned to our content strategy
- Create, publish and promote customer case studies — turning customer results into stories that win new business
- Support our webinars end to end: landing pages, promotion, email campaigns, follow-up and repurposing content
- Build and send email marketing campaigns in HubSpot
- Track performance and report on what is working across channels
2. Sales & outreach (approx. 25%)
- Run cold and warm email outreach campaigns to universities using our proven templates and playbooks
- Carry out LinkedIn outreach: researching contacts, sending connection requests and follow-ups
- Book discovery calls and appointments for the CEO — and sit in on those calls to learn how they are run
- Progress to leading introductory calls yourself as your confidence and product knowledge grow
- Attend sector events and conferences to network and represent Unitu
3. Customer & product (approx. 15%)
- Create product training content: short videos, support guides and how-to materials for our university partners
- Work with our Customer Success Manager to brainstorm and test ideas that improve how universities and students engage with our tools
Why this is a great apprenticeship
- Documented playbooks for every core workflow — LinkedIn content, email outreach, case studies, webinars — so you are never left guessing; you learn by executing proven systems, then improving them
- A modern stack: HubSpot, ClickUp, Canva, LinkedIn Sales Navigator and AI tools (we use Claude daily across marketing and sales)
- Direct mentoring from the CEO, plus formal training one day a week with JBC Skills Training towards your Level 3 Multi-Channel Marketer qualification
- Real ownership and visible impact — your campaigns, your results, in a company small enough for your work to matter
Who we are looking for
You do not need marketing or sales experience — we will teach you the systems. What we cannot teach is attitude, so we are looking for someone who is:
- A confident communicator — comfortable speaking on the phone and on video calls, and happy to attend events and talk to new people
- A capable writer with good attention to detail
- Organised and able to manage several workstreams at once
- Self-motivated — someone who takes initiative and gets things done without waiting to be asked
- Curious about technology, SaaS and how businesses grow
- Open to feedback and genuinely keen to learn
Desirable (not essential)
- Experience running social media accounts (personal or otherwise)
- Familiarity with Canva or any design tools
- Any customer-facing experience (retail, hospitality, volunteering all count)
Apprenticeship summary
Your training plan

- Marketing within the Business
- Channels and Strategy

- Campaign Delivery and Performance
- Customers and Compliance

Each module is delivered over a four‑week period, with one three‑hour remote classroom session taking place each week.
More training information
- We are a government approved apprenticeship training provider. We provide apprenticeships for a wide range of employers, large and small.

- You will have a progress review with your trainer and line manager every three months, along with regular support sessions to help you develop your portfolio.
About the employer
Our clients mission is to give every student the opportunity to be heard and to create change.
