Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced, versatile, and hands-on Production Supervisor to join our manufacturing operation in Kington. Working closely with the Operations Manager, the successful candidate will manage daily manufacturing operations, coordinate procurement and customer logistics, oversee line staff, and maintain seamless administrative and quality workflows.

What You Can Expect

  • Working Hours: 40 hours per week
  • Monday to Thursday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Friday: 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM
  • Salary: £29,000 - 31,000 pa (depending on experience)
  • Holidays: 22 days pa + bank holidays

Production Leadership & Line Management

  • Oversee, support, and guide shop-floor operators to meet production targets.
  • Lead team training, onboarding, and ongoing staff development.
  • Manage clock cards, attendance logging, and basic HR/personnel support for the line.
  • Address line issues, perform machine troubleshooting, and coordinate maintenance or repairs when needed.

Materials, Purchasing & Inventory

  • Request quotes for materials, place purchase requisitions and monitor yields/reorder points.
  • Oversee stock control, conduct regular stocktakes, and assist with inventory reconciliation.
  • Cross-check demand forecasts and update production schedules accordingly.

Quality, Documentation & Customer Order Support

  • Complete contract reviews for incoming orders and ensure jobs meet technical requirements.
  • Prepare and issue job travellers, work orders, and production documentation.
  • Direct customer communications regarding job statuses, queries, and schedule updates.

Shipping & Logistics

  • Prepare shipment paperwork, packing documentation, and dispatch details.
  • Request collections and oversee final delivery dispatch.

What We Are Looking For

  • Hands-on experience in manufacturing, production supervision, or operational coordination.
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities (from purchasing to shop-floor management).
  • Confident leadership skills with clear communication and team management abilities.
  • Practical problem-solving skills for handling machine, material, or scheduling issues.
  • High attention to detail regarding contract specifications, paperwork, and quality compliance.
  • Proficiency with IT systems (Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, emails).

Pay: £29,000.00-£31,000.00 per year
