Overview

We are seeking a highly creative and detail-oriented Creative Director & Editor to lead our visual and editorial content. This pivotal role involves shaping the creative vision of our projects, overseeing content production, and ensuring that all outputs align with brand standards and audience expectations. The successful candidate will possess a strong artistic sensibility, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to influence our brand identity while working within a dynamic team committed to innovation and excellence.

Creative development

  • Develop original concepts and creative responses to client briefs
  • Write treatments, outlines, scripts, shot lists and interview questions
  • Build and present pitch decks and treatment documents to clients in both English and Chinese
  • Define and protect the creative direction of a project from brief through to delivery

Directing

  • Direct commercials, brand films, branded content and documentary-style work
  • Plan shots, storyboards and coverage in collaboration with the DP and producer
  • Direct talent, presenters and non-professional contributors on set
  • Work closely with the production team on schedules, locations and creative feasibility

Shooting

  • Self-shoot small-scale productions — interviews, social content, BTS, documentary segments — operating solo or with a minimal crew
  • Handle basic lighting and sound set-ups to a professional standard
  • Ensure media is correctly captured, logged and handed over to post

Editing & post

  • Assemble and refine cuts from rushes through to final delivery
  • Handle basic grading, sound mixing and titling; motion graphics an advantage
  • Act as a key point of contact between production and post-production
  • Manage versions, client feedback rounds and deliverable specs across formats

General

  • Collaborate closely with producers and the Executive Producer on scope, schedule and budget
  • Keep creative work aligned with client brand guidelines and campaign objectives
  • Follow Health & Safety procedures on set and contribute to risk assessments
  • Stay across current visual trends, platforms and reference work

Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience directing commercial, branded or documentary content — a showreel or portfolio is essential
  • Strong editing skills in Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve or similar
  • Confident camera operator (Sony FX-series, RED, or comparable mirrorless/cinema cameras), with a working knowledge of lighting and location sound
  • Strong storytelling instincts and the ability to articulate and defend creative decisions
  • Degree (BA/MA) in Filmmaking, Media or a related field — or an equivalent body of work
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure across multiple projects
  • Fluent in both English and Mandarin Chinese (written and spoken)
  • Cultural understanding of both the UK and Chinese markets
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and standard production documentation
  • Willingness to travel internationally for shoots

Desirable

  • Motion graphics / After Effects
  • Colour grading experience
  • Drone or gimbal operation
  • Full clean UK driving licence

Benefits

  • UK visa sponsorship
  • Hybrid working between shoots
  • International travel and a genuinely varied slate of work

Pay: £28,000.00-£30,000.00 per year

Benefits:

  • UK visa sponsorship

Work Location: In person
