The Health & Safety Group is a leading UK provider of Mandatory and CPD-accredited training, delivering high-quality classroom sessions across a range of sectors including Healthcare, Education, Retail & Leisure, Manufacturing & Logistics, Hospitality & Catering, Office & HR, and Prisons & Corrections.

We are proud to support the Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism, and we’re offering a fantastic opportunity for individuals with lived experience of autism and/or learning disability to join our valued training team as Lived Experience Co-Trainers.

This is a meaningful role where you will share your personal experience to help educate healthcare and social care professionals, supporting improved understanding and care for people with autism and learning disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Co-deliver Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training Tier 1 and Tier 2 sessions both in-person (classroom) and online (webinars)
  • Share your personal lived experience in a structured, supportive, and impactful way
  • Work alongside experienced lead trainers to ensure delivery of high-quality, engaging sessions
  • Travel to different training venues as required (Tier 2)

Essential Requirements:

  • Lived experience of Learning Disabilities or Autism
  • Tier 1 and/or Tier 2 Co-Trainer certificates for the Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training
  • A passion for improving awareness, inclusion, and care standards
  • A willingness to travel to training locations across England
  • No healthcare qualifications are required

Please note: While we appreciate that many individuals may work in the field or care for family members with autism or learning disabilities, this role specifically requires personal lived experience. As such, we are only able to consider applicants who themselves have a learning disability or are autistic. This is a requirement for delivering the Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training and forms a core part of the co-trainer role.
