Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced kitchen environment. The Kitchen Porter plays a vital role in supporting the culinary team by ensuring that the kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently. This position is ideal for individuals looking to gain experience in the hospitality and culinary sectors, particularly within hotels and restaurants.

Duties

  • Assist with food preparation tasks as directed by the chefs, ensuring high standards of hygiene and safety are maintained.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen by washing dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment promptly.
  • Ensure that all kitchen areas are kept tidy and organised throughout service periods.
  • Help with the storage of food items, ensuring proper stock rotation and labelling.
  • Support the culinary team by fetching ingredients and supplies as needed.
  • Dispose of waste appropriately and ensure recycling procedures are followed.
  • Assist with any additional tasks as required to support the smooth operation of the kitchen.

Skills

  • A strong willingness to help and support colleagues in a busy kitchen environment.
  • Previous experience in a hotel or restaurant setting is advantageous but not essential.
  • Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques is beneficial.
