Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to support our culinary team in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring that kitchen operations run smoothly by handling cleaning duties and assisting with basic food preparation. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in gaining experience within the hospitality and culinary sectors, particularly those looking to develop skills in food service, cooking, and restaurant operations.

Duties

  • Wash, clean, and sanitise dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment to uphold hygiene standards.
  • Assist with basic food preparation tasks under supervision, including peeling, chopping, and assembling ingredients.
  • Support the kitchen team during busy service periods by ensuring all areas are well-stocked and organised.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work surfaces, floors, and storage areas throughout shifts.
  • Dispose of waste responsibly and ensure recycling procedures are followed.
  • Help with the organisation of deliveries and stock rotation as needed.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment for all staff.
  • Weekend availability a must.

Skills

  • Experience or familiarity with food preparation and cooking is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided.
  • Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality setting is desirable.
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy periods.
  • Strong attention to cleanliness and hygiene standards.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team within a fast-paced environment.
