Full job description

Dispatcher / Dispatch Supervisor – Central Food Production Kitchen

Location: North Acton
Job Type: Full-time

Are you highly organised and detail-oriented, and do you thrive in fast-paced environments?

We’re looking for a Dispatcher / Dispatch Supervisor to join our Central Production Kitchen at Pure.
This is a hands-on role at the heart of our daily operations — coordinating the timely, accurate, and quality-controlled dispatch of food to our stores and wholesale partners.

If you take pride in precision, enjoy working in a dynamic environment, and don’t mind spending time in chilled areas, this role could be an excellent fit.

Pay & Benefits

  • Pay: £14.00 per hour (with the possibility to earn £15.00 per hour based on overall kitchen performance)
  • Daily Food & Drink Allowance: £15 per day — worth £3,600 annually
  • Contract: Permanent (we don’t do zero-hour contracts)
  • Time Off: Up to 28 days holiday, plus an extra half-day each year (up to 32 days total)
  • Growth: Real opportunities for training and progression within our Central Kitchen team
  • Culture: Supportive environment with team outings and celebrations

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily dispatch operations to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
  • Maintain clear communication with Production Management to meet daily targets.
  • Oversee printing of delivery notes, accurate packing of orders, and dispatch at the highest quality standards.
  • Manage and control all dispatch-related materials (crates, cargas, wrapping, etc.).
  • Record and report dispatch activities, including shortages, substitutions, or additions.
  • Work closely with drivers and build strong, professional relationships.
  • Support production when required and ensure all preparation for the next day is complete.
  • Operate in cold rooms (walk-in fridges) for a large part of the shift, lifting and carrying boxes as part of daily dispatch duties.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
  • Confidence using dispatch or production systems/software.
  • Physically fit and comfortable working in refrigerated areas, with regular lifting and movement.
  • Flexible, proactive, and adaptable to changing business needs.

Team Collaboration

  • Liaise with the General Manager, Assistant Manager, Production Supervisors, and fellow team members.
  • Communicate clearly with drivers and management to ensure smooth dispatch operations.
  • Provide guidance, support, and training to other dispatchers or production staff.

Working Environment

  • Primarily based in the dispatch area within a walk-in fridge.
  • Regular movement between the kitchen, cold rooms, and office areas.
  • Involves manual handling, lifting, and physical activity throughout the shift.
  • PPE and warm protective clothing are provided.

Our Ideal Candidate

  • Takes ownership and pride in ensuring every order leaves on time and in perfect condition.
  • Supports and uplifts team morale, offering both encouragement and constructive feedback.
  • Identifies areas for operational improvement and communicates them effectively.
  • Is passionate about food quality and able to spot discrepancies in product standards.
