Full job description

Warehouse & Logistics Staffing Business Development Manager – Self-Employed

Job description

WorkerCo UK Ltd is developing a temporary staffing division for warehouses, logistics, fulfilment centres, sorting centres and companies that need reliable workers for shifts.

We can supply staff for warehouse and logistics roles such as picker / packer, warehouse operative, parcel sorter, loader / unloader, fulfilment operative, returns operative, dispatch operative, goods-in / goods-out operative, forklift driver and other warehouse roles.

WorkerCo UK also benefits from the wider operational experience of Respekt Personal Group, which has over 10 years of workforce management experience and more than 2,500 workers under management across Europe.

This gives us practical understanding of workforce coordination, staffing, labour supply, client support and high-volume worker management.

We are now looking for a self-employed Business Development Manager / Business Development Partner who understands the UK warehouse and logistics market and knows how to open doors with clients such as warehouse managers, operations managers, logistics managers, fulfilment centres, distribution centres, parcel hubs and e-commerce warehouses.

This is a self-employed / freelance business development opportunity with a commission-based structure and strong earning potential.

For the right person, realistic earning potential is £40,000–£100,000+ per year, depending on active clients, workers supplied, margins achieved and client payments.

The role

Your job is to find clients, build relationships and help grow active accounts in warehousing, logistics and fulfilment.

You will not be expected to spend your day sourcing workers, processing CVs or constantly recruiting candidates.

WorkerCo UK handles the worker side: sourcing, Right to Work checks, basic screening, onboarding, timesheets, payroll process, invoicing and delivery support.

Your focus is clients, negotiations and business development.

You may already have your own contacts with warehouses, logistics companies or fulfilment centres, or you may work from warm leads provided by WorkerCo UK.

Both options can work.

WorkerCo UK can support you with

  • warm leads from marketing, email and LinkedIn campaigns;
  • company profile and rate card;
  • worker sourcing and delivery support;
  • admin and back-office support;
  • timesheet and invoicing process;
  • help with proposals and client follow-up.

What you will be doing

  • Speaking with UK logistics companies, warehouses, fulfilment centres, parcel hubs and distribution centres.
  • Contacting potential clients by phone, email and LinkedIn.
  • Building relationships with warehouse managers, operations managers, shift managers, logistics managers and directors.
  • Understanding client requirements: roles, number of workers, shifts, locations, rates and start dates.
  • Discussing hourly rates, charge rates, margins and supply terms.
  • Passing qualified requirements to WorkerCo UK.
  • Helping close new clients.
  • Supporting repeat business and long-term client relationships.

This is not a 360 recruitment role.

WorkerCo UK supplies the workers and supports the delivery process. Your main focus is business development and client relationships.

Roles we can supply

WorkerCo UK can support clients with roles such as:

  • Warehouse Operatives;
  • Pickers and Packers;
  • Parcel Sorters;
  • Loaders and Unloaders;
  • Fulfilment Operatives;
  • Returns Operatives;
  • Dispatch Operatives;
  • Goods-in / Goods-out Operatives;
  • General Warehouse Labour;
  • Forklift Drivers;
  • Shift Support Workers;
  • Team Leaders, subject to requirements.

Our initial focus is logistics, fulfilment, parcel sorting, retail warehouses, e-commerce warehouses and non-food warehouse operations.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for a confident, commercially minded person who understands the UK logistics / warehouse sector and knows how to speak with clients.

Relevant experience may include:

  • logistics recruitment;
  • warehouse recruitment;
  • industrial recruitment;
  • labour supply / staffing;
  • warehouse operations;
  • fulfilment centres;
  • parcel sorting / courier hubs;
  • distribution centres;
  • transport and logistics sales;
  • business development into warehouse or logistics clients;
  • former warehouse manager, shift manager, operations manager or logistics coordinator.

You should be confident discussing warehouse roles, shift patterns, worker volumes, hourly rates, charge rates and margins.

Strong spoken English and a confident phone manner are essential.

Commercial structure

This is a self-employed / freelance opportunity.

Commission is paid from paid gross profit / paid margin after the client has paid WorkerCo UK’s invoice.

A strong BD partner who builds active client accounts can earn recurring commission from workers placed on shifts week after week.

After the trial period, for the right partner, we are also open to discussing weekly support for business development activity, expenses support or a draw against future commission.

The terms of this support will be discussed individually and agreed in writing.

Final commission percentage, payment terms, protected client accounts and any possible additional support will be agreed in writing before active client work begins.

This is a strong opportunity for the right person

This is an urgent opportunity for someone who understands warehouses, logistics, staffing or labour supply and wants to build long-term income from active clients.

This role may suit you if:

  • you understand UK logistics, warehouses or staffing;
  • you are confident speaking with warehouse and operations teams;
  • you want stronger earning potential than a normal sales role;
  • you do not want to spend all day sourcing candidates;
  • you want a company behind you that can supply workers and support delivery;
  • you want to build long-term recurring income from active warehouse and logistics accounts;
  • you are professional, realistic and commercially driven.

How we work together

We want to build a proper long-term commercial partnership.

WorkerCo UK will not take genuine client relationships introduced by the partner, and the partner will not bypass WorkerCo UK with WorkerCo clients, leads or workers.

We work under a simple written self-employed consultant / business development partner agreement so both sides are protected and the commercial structure is clear.

Location

UK-wide / remote / on the road / field-based.

You do not need to attend a WorkerCo UK office. Meetings with logistics companies, warehouses, fulfilment centres or operations teams may be required where commercially useful.

How to apply

Please apply with a short note explaining your experience in UK logistics, warehousing, labour supply, industrial recruitment, warehouse operations or logistics sales.

If you understand logistics and warehouse staffing and know how to open doors with warehouse or operations teams, we would be happy to speak with you.

Pay: £40,000.00-£100,000.00 per year

Application question(s):

  • Do you have experience in UK logistics, warehousing, industrial recruitment, labour supply or logistics sales?
  • Briefly describe the types of logistics, warehouse, fulfilment or operations contacts you have dealt with before.
  • Do you already have any contacts with UK warehouses, fulfilment centres, parcel hubs, distribution centres or logistics companies?
  • Are you open to discussing a self-employed / freelance business development partnership structure?
