Kitchen Porter

London

Contract: Part Time, Permanent
Salary: 14.55
Hours: 20 per week

A co-educational private day school in Lewisham, London. Catering for 900 students and teachers daily. We offer a core feeding of breakfast, lunch and sixth form café across 3 locations. There is a considerable amount of hospitality at this location. This is a term-time only location, working 35 weeks a year and operating Monday to Friday.

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Kitchen Porter to join our established & friendly team at our prestigious location in London.

You'll be playing a big part in keeping the kitchen hygienic, safe, and up to our very high standards of cleanliness.

Key skills:

  • Experience of pot wash duties would be an advantage
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Great team player
  • Be able to help the Chefs with some food prep
  • Ensure high standards of cleanliness at all times
  • Clean and maintain all kitchen equipment
  • Clean allocated pieces of heavy catering equipment using instructions and cleaning materials including air filter and extraction systems.
  • Operate industrial dishwasher

We are looking for:

  • Kitchen Porter experience is preferred, but not essential.
  • Can do attitude.
  • Organisation Skills.

Knowledge / competencies:

  • Ability to demonstrate reasonable / good understanding and use of verbal English.
  • Ability to demonstrate reasonable / good standard of written English and reading skills.
  • Similar experience of customer and / or food preparation environment is preferred
