Full job description

Pickerings Lifts is a national, well established, privately owned, independent, leading Industry specialist with 170 years’ experience.

Due to continued success and growth, we require a Loading Systems / Industrial Door Engineer to carry out servicing, callouts and repairs on loading bay and industrial access equipment covering Loading Systems Southeast Region.

Main Duties:

  • Service, Fault Finding & Repairs: Demonstrate proficiency in servicing, fault diagnosis, and repairs on loading bay and industrial access equipment, including mechanical and hydraulic dock levellers, scissor lifts, vehicle restraints, industrial doors, gates, and barriers.
  • Service Documentation & Reporting: Follow all service check sheets accurately and, upon completion of works, compile detailed reports highlighting any additional remedial or repair requirements.
  • Planned Maintenance Delivery: Complete maintenance schedules in line with agreed service contracts, ensuring works are carried out within required timescales and standards.
  • Engineering Support Contact: Act as a key point of contact for engineers, providing technical guidance and operational support where required.
  • Repair Works: Undertake repair duties as directed, ensuring all works are completed safely, efficiently, and to company standards.
  • On-Call Participation: Actively participate in the regional on-call rota, providing responsive support as required.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Conform to and promote best practice in Health & Safety at all times, ensuring safe systems of work are consistently followed.

Person specification:

  • Driving Licence: Hold a full UK driving licence, essential for travel to customer sites and regional coverage.
  • Health & Safety Commitment: Demonstrate willingness to undertake ongoing Health & Safety training as directed by the Company’s QHSE Department, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of current legislation, guidelines, and safe working practices.
  • Communication & Customer Service: Possess strong communication and customer service skills, ensuring professional interaction with clients and colleagues.
  • Industry Qualifications: Hold recognised industry certifications demonstrating competency, including IPAF, PASMA, CSCS, and NVQ Level 2 in Loading Bay Equipment (or equivalent).
  • Technical Expertise: Have relevant experience and/or qualifications in electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical engineering, including fabrication and welding.
  • Professional Development: Show willingness to undertake ongoing competency, product, and Health & Safety training to support continuous professional development.
