Job Title: Intermediate Document Controller – Architectural Fit-Out & Drylining

Location: Central London (Moving between various active project sites)

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per year (Depending on experience)

Start Date: ASAP

About My Client

My client is a market-leading, award-winning architectural package contractor specialising in premium drywall, suspended ceilings, joinery, and washroom fit-out solutions. For over 30 years, they have delivered complex, high-end interior packages for Tier 1 main contractors and major developers across commercial, residential and landmark London developments.

They take great pride in their high compliance standards (including their ISO 9001 and BS EN ISO 19650-2 BIM accreditations) and their gold standard delivery. To support their expanding portfolio of major projects in Central London, they are looking for a proactive, organised Intermediate Document Controller to join the team immediately.

The Role

As the Document Controller, you won’t be stuck in a single office. You will be a mobile and vital part of the project delivery team, moving between active, fast-paced construction sites across Central London.

You will manage the end-to-end flow of technical data, ensuring that the site managers, design teams, and subcontractors always have real-time access to accurate, up to date drawings, RFIs, and compliance logs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Administration: Set up, configure and maintain Common Data Environments (CDE) and Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS), specifically platforms like Procore, Asite or Viewpoint.
  • Quality Control: Gatekeep incoming and outgoing data. Ensure all architectural drawings, technical submittals, O&M manuals and RFIs adhere to rigorous naming conventions and version-control standards.
  • Workflow Distribution: Manage the circulation and approval workflows of documents, ensuring prompt turnaround and flagging bottlenecks to Project Managers.
  • Site Collaboration: Work side-by-side with commercial, design and site management teams to assist with data retrieval, handovers and regular quality audits.
  • Archiving: Supervise the closure and tidy archiving of project files at the completion of packages.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Experience: Minimum 2–4 years of experience working as a Document Controller within the UK construction sector. Experience working directly for a specialist subcontractor (drylining, fit-out or envelope) is a massive bonus.
  • Software Proficiency: Proven, hands-on experience using industry-standard document systems (Procore experience is highly desirable).
  • Mobility: You must be fully commutable to Central London and comfortable moving between various site locations as project needs shift.
  • Detail-Oriented: An eagle eye for detail, for example, you can spot a mismatched revision code or missing file name from a mile away.
  • Availability: Ready to hit the ground running with an immediate or very short notice period.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary aligned with current Central London intermediate market rates.
  • Company pension scheme.
  • Clear pathways for professional growth and training.
  • Opportunity to work on some of the capital's most prestigious architectural interiors.

To Apply:

If you are an organised professional ready for a dynamic site based role in Central London, we want to hear from you. Please submit your CV and notice period details today for immediate review.
