Junior/Trainee Technical Librarian

Location: Bishops Stortford
Salary: £16,900 per annum
Job Type: Permanent
Hours: 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday (5 hours per day). Flexible start and finish times available.

About the Junior/Trainee Technical Librarian Role

We are looking for an organised and enthusiastic Junior/Trainee Technical Librarian to join our Engineering team in Bishops Stortford.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start or develop a career within engineering administration and document control. Full training will be provided, making this an ideal role for someone with strong organisational skills, good attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.

Working closely with our Engineering, Production and Quality teams, you will play a key role in maintaining and managing our technical documentation to ensure the correct information is available when needed.

Junior/Trainee Technical Librarian Key Responsibilities

  • Store customer drawings and design data within the company's document management system.
  • Maintain and update customer specifications and technical documentation.
  • Supply engineering drawings and specifications to Engineering, Production and Quality departments.
  • Monitor customer portals for updates and distribute revised documentation as required.
  • Ensure all records are accurate and kept up to date.
  • Assist with scanning and digitising job packs (full training provided).
  • Retrieve archived documentation when requested.
  • Provide general administrative support to the Engineering and Quality departments.
  • Undertake other duties appropriate to the role as required.

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage your workload effectively.
