Full job description

We are looking for Free Running Explosive Detection Dog (FREDD) Handlers.

Hours - Minimum 3 days per week wit the ability to work changing shifts covering 24/7, offering salary includes the night time premium

This involves screening large quantities of cargo for the aviation industry.

No prior experience of being a FREDD handler is required, however experience is an advantage.

Full training will be provided based at our head office in Cheshire and can be for up to 12 weeks depending upon experience. Training is Monday to Friday initially and you can go home on weekends with travel to be expensed.

Once training is completed you will then move to your duty post at Aberdeen Airport.

Training is paid and we provide self catering accommodation during the training period.

Standard Salary £35,929.00 per year (pro rata)

Duties involved

  • Screening aviation cargo at UK hubs.
  • Ensure the health and welfare of dogs is maintained to high standard.
  • Maintain and ensure safe handling of training samples.
  • Complete detailed real time records for the dogs.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Conduct risk assessments as required.
  • Maintain vehicle, equipment, and project equipment.

Required

  • Computer literate.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Effective problem solving skills.
  • Full UK driving license, with no more than 6 points.
  • Full background checks will be conducted in addition to DBS check (for licensing purposes).
  • 5 Year Checkable Reference Check
  • Right to work in UK
  • Physical stamina required.
  • You will be required to house a dog at your home address in a secure outside secure space In a provided kennel.
  • Commutable to London Aberdeen Dyce Airport.
  • Ability to work changing shifts covering 24/7, offering salary includes the night time premium.
