This is a hands-on role. You will be working with the dogs and team every day, while also taking responsibility for staffing, client relationships, compliance, operational standards and helping us grow the daycare.

Key responsibilities

  • Supervise the safe care, play, enrichment and welfare of dogs.
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene, safety, compliance and record keeping, in line with our Animal Activity Licence.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs, staff rotas and improve day-to-day operations.
  • Manage client enquiries, assessments, onboarding and relationships.
  • Help drive bookings, occupancy and local referrals.
  • Create and post engaging content for Instagram and Facebook, including photos, Reels and short-form video, to showcase the daycare and attract new clients.
  • Support the day-to-day admin, booking system and client records.
  • Lead by example and be happy to get involved in all aspects of daycare, including cleaning and poo picking.

About you

Essential:

  • 3+ years' experience in dog daycare/kennels management/co-ordination.
  • A recognised Level 3 (or above) qualification in animal care, canine behaviour or a related subject.
  • Good knowledge of dog welfare, daycare compliance and SOPs.
  • Strong customer service and commercial awareness.
  • Strong IT and administration skills.
  • A calm, confident approach to handling dogs of different breeds and temperaments.
  • A practical, reliable and hands-on attitude.
  • A full UK driving licence and own transport due to our rural location.
  • The right to work in the UK.

Desirable:

  • Canine First Aid qualification (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Good social media skills, particularly Instagram, Facebook and short-form video/content creation.

What we offer

  • £30,000–£35,000 depending on experience.
  • Discretionary KPI-based performance incentive linked to occupancy, client onboarding and service standards.
  • 40 hours per week.
  • Holiday entitlement and workplace pension.
  • Opportunity to play a key role in building and growing a new business.
  • Early start preferred.
