Earn a living as a Dog Walker!
At earthdogs® we do things differently… we not only provide a fun and safe walking experience for our dogs, but at the same time we give back to street dogs around the world!
For every dog walked by us, we donate up to 4 meals to our partner shelters in India, and at no extra cost for our clients.
Join our team now to become a part of a growing business with a world-wide mission for dogs.
As a dog walker for earthdogs, you will be responsible for providing exercise, socialisation and mental stimulation for the dogs in your care.
This role will be perfect for someone who enjoys working alone, loves dogs, and being active in nature!
Please note we are looking for someone permanent that wants to grow with our business.
We cover the North Herts and Central Beds area, including but not limited to - Hitchin, Letchworth, Arlesey, Stotfold and surrounding villages.
You must live within a 15 minute drive of Hitchin, Hertfordshire.
Responsibilities:
- Safely walk dogs (solo and group walks) in local areas as directed
- Monitor the health and well-being of the dogs in your care
- Collect dogs in a safe and secure vehicle, and drop them home after walks
- Be responsible for household keys, and ensure homes are safely locked after pick-up and drop-offs
- Manage time effectively so that the walks are kept to schedule
- Respond to clients in a timely manner, and maintain a professional yet friendly demeanour during communications
- Upload instagram/Facebook stories to the earthdogs social media during dog walks
-Observe the body language of dogs on your walks, and when safely introducing dogs together
Requirements:

- A full UK drivers license
- Your own vehicle and business insurance to provide safe and secure transportation of dogs (please do not apply if you do not own a suitable vehicle)
- A dog lover with an understanding of canine behaviour and positive reinforcement
- Calm and confident handling dogs of all breeds, sizes and temperaments
- Physically fit and capable of walking for 2-6 hours a day in various weather conditions
- Ability to control a group of dogs simultaneously
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Reliable and punctual - this is essential as many dogs rely on their walkers whilst clients are at work
- Great communication skills
- Previous dog walking, training or kennel assisting experience is desirable
Benefits:
- The opportunity to take your dog to work! We encourage bringing our dogs on walks with us, as long as they are well suited to those walks and have been safely introduced to the other dogs
- Casual dress - you decide your uniform
- Opportunity for progression within a growing business, there will be supervising and managerial role opportunities
- Flexible hours
- Spending time with dogs and in nature

You must be able to commit to 1 year
Full time working hours will be from approximately 8am - 3pm. This will vary to accommodate clients needs and requests. Weekend availability is desirable although not required, jobs can be given on weekends and paid at a higher rate.
Please note this is a self-employed position. All advertising will be carried out by earthdogs and all clients provided to you.
