Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate person to join our happy team. You will provide exceptional care for the dogs and cats boarding at Hillcrest Kennels and Cattery, Dorchester, working closely with the pets and their owners. You must also deliver outstanding customer service, whilst maintaining a clean and safe environment at all times.
Duties
- Ensure all areas are kept meticulously clean
- Provide daily exercise, feeding and enrichment
- Engage with pet owners, fellow staff, and management in a polite, respectful, and professional manner
- Answer boarding enquiries over the phone and via email
- Take, amend, and accurately record pet registration details and bookings
- Administer and record medications
- Occasionally bath or groom pets
Qualifications and Experience
- Previous experience with cats and dogs is essential
- You should ideally hold a level 3 animal care and welfare qualification
- You will need to be physically fit as this role is physically demanding
- You will be required to work in all weather conditions
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, reliable, punctual, hard-working, cheerful, caring, and able to work well in a team. They must also have a healthy work ethic, sense of humour, and be willing to develop and improve their skills in a small and supportive business.
Job Type: Full or Part-Time, with a 12-month contract initially, moving to a permanent contract after 12 months
Hours: 15-45 hours a week, subject to agreement
Pay: Above minimum wage, with company pension, holiday pay and a half hour paid lunch break for longer shifts
