Full job description

Full Time, Self Employed Dog Walker

Monday - Friday

Clan Canines is Scotland's multi-award-winning, premium dog adventure & home boarding service. Founded in 2016, we have continued to grow and expand and we now have a team of four, covering 2 geographic locations in Scotland.

Our focus is on providing reliable, professional and unsurpassed customer service to our clients, and ensuring they have absolute peace of mind when their dogs are in our care.

We aim to give our dogs enriching and fun experiences in a variety of locations and in small, well balanced groups.

We are seeking a reliable and passionate Dog Walker to join our team. We generally operate two walks per day, Monday to Friday, and team members are usually finished by 3.30pm at the latest. There is the option of additional home boarding work for applicants who hold an animal boarding licence or who intend to acquire one.

This role is self-employed and you must have your own, suitable vehicle to transport multiple dogs.

As a Dog Walker, you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of dogs and provide them with the exercise and care they need. This is a great opportunity for an individual who loves animals and enjoys being outdoors. We are looking for someone who is able to start as soon as possible. A period of training and work shadowing will precede taking over group walks.

Previous candidates for the P/T role are welcome to reapply if they are available for F/T work.

Duties:

- Walk dogs on a regular schedule, ensuring they get the exercise they need

- Reinforce basic commands and recall during walks

- Clean up after dogs during walks and dispose of waste properly

- Monitor dogs' behaviour and report any concerns or issues to the owner

- Ensure the safety of both the dogs and yourself during walks

- Follow all company policies and procedures regarding dog walking

Skills:

- Customer service skills to interact with clients in a professional and friendly manner

- Basic Canine First Aid knowledge, to recognise signs of distress or illness in dogs

- Ability to handle heavy lifting, as some dogs may be large or require assistance

- Good knowledge of dog behaviour

If you are passionate about working with animals and enjoy being active, this could be the perfect job for you. Apply now to join our team as a Dog Walker.
