Position: Administration Manager
Employment Type: Hours to be discussed, 30-35 hours per week. May involve occasional out of hours and weekends. Permanent, office based at our centre in Colton, Rugeley.
Salary: Competitive, based on experience. Starting from 28th March £32,500 (pro rata of the full time 40 hours per week)

About Us: Border Collie Trust GB is a dedicated charity committed to the rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming of Border Collies in need. Role Overview: We are seeking a highly organised and motivated Administration Manager to oversee the daily operations of our administrative office. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth running of our charity’s administrative functions, supporting our team, and contributing to our mission of helping Border Collies find loving homes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the office.
  • Supervise administrative staff and volunteers, providing support and training as needed. As a member of the senior management team, work with the Kennel Manager to provide overall day to day successful operations in line with Trust policies and procedures, reporting to the Trustees.
  • Coordinate and attend meetings as required for Trustees, staff, volunteers, events, appointments and where necessary to represent the Trust, ensuring efficient scheduling.
  • Handle correspondence, phone calls, and inquiries.
  • Maintain accurate records and databases, including details in respect of dogs, adopters, donor information and volunteer details.
  • Manage supplies, inventory, and equipment maintenance.
  • Assist with fundraising activities and campaigns.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and other documents as required.
  • Liaise with external partners, suppliers, and service providers.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and policies.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience in an administrative and supervisory role or in a similar administrative role.
  • Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Skills in social media and website maintenance.
  • Familiarity with database management and record-keeping.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Compassion for animals and alignment with the charity’s mission.

Desirable:

  • Experience working in a charity or non-profit organisation.
  • Knowledge of Border Collies or experience working with animals.
