ENTRY LEVEL - COMMIS CHEF

Here at the Black Dog We have an exciting opportunity for a commis chef to join our team at our busy and welcoming family pub.

The Black Dog is an established rural destination pub for food and has an excellent reputation for delivering great quality traditional and gastro pub food, using fresh locally sourced produce.

Thanks to increased demand for our delicious food, a unique opportunity has arisen to join our small and friendly team.

Enthusiasm and the right attitude is key, as we all work closely together as a team.

We are flexible with our requirements and would consider those with a broad range of experience levels in catering and kitchen work.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting the head chef in delivering our traditional menu
  • Ensuring the preparation of food to the highest standards of hygiene
  • Working with the head chef to ensure consistently high standards of presentation
  • Assisting the head chef with stock ordering as required
  • Covering for other staff members during busy periods and holidays as required
  • Working effectively with front of house staff to ensure a high level of customer service

The ideal candidate would have the following previous experience:

  • Proficient in various cooking techniques and culinary skills
  • Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment

We are located in a semi-rural location and have ample parking available, so having a car or some form of transportation would be preferable.

The right candidate for the role of Commis Chef will need to be passionate about good food and work to a high standard. We offer a staff meal whilst on duty, free on-site parking, a friendly and professional working environment.

Must Have: Own Transport to travel to our rural location in Broadmayne (DT28ES) as there is no reliable public transport available to cover split shifts. (Please check our location before applying)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £7.55-£12.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
