Trainee Dog Trainer - Outstanding opportunity for the right person

Faithwolf Dog Training are looking for trainee dog trainers - no experience necessary! (Potential for on site accommodation for the right candidate although living on site is not a requirement of the role)

We're looking for highly motivated trainee dog trainers to be guided by and work alongside our director, world renowned dog trainer and entrepreneur, Matt Wiggins.

You'll be hard working, punctual and receptive to learning

Matt has transformed the lives of countless dogs and owners around the world, many of which had failed training with numerous other trainers.

We will teach you the required skills but you must bring the right attitude and work ethic. You could be the most naturally gifted trainer in the world but if you can't bring the basics, this isn't going to work out.

You'll need to be willing to listen, take feedback and learn from your mistakes. We don't expect you to know everything, quite the opposite in fact, but we do expect you to put the effort in to become the best you can be.

You'll be a positive, outgoing people person who loves creating positive change

We won't just teach you how to train dogs better and faster than 99% of the industry. We'll also provide career progression opportunities and help you develop further skills ranging from client handling to sales and people management to content creation.

Working with and caring for animals is a big responsibility, 365 days a year. We simply can't have people in our team who are unreliable, need their hands holding or aren't comfortable working on their own initiative whilst holding themselves accountable.

We want people who can be trusted to get on with the job, do what they say they're going to do and take responsibility for their own work.

Working with animals doesn't always go to plan and sometimes things take longer than expected. If a dog needs attention, a job needs finishing or another member of the team needs help, we expect you to be flexible and willing to muck in rather than watching the clock waiting to leave.

That doesn't mean we expect you to work for free, but we do expect you to have the attitude that the job needs doing properly, even when it isn't particularly convenient.

Likewise, if something needs doing and it's not strictly part of your job description, we'd much rather you got stuck in than walked past it.

Faithwolf is an exciting new startup from the founder of WKD Trained Dogs Ltd. We transform the lives of dogs and people around the world. We stand apart by doing the unconventional - informed by past results.

We continue to improve by analysing our results and constantly refining our approaches.

Our services range from 121 dog training, residential dog training, the sourcing, training and supply of fully trained pet dogs and coming soon, online dog training.

We have big plans. To help us achieve them we are building a committed, driven and loyal team.

For the right people, there will be opportunities to progress from trainee dog trainer through to experienced trainer, senior trainer and ultimately management positions as the business grows.

Responsibilities

• Training dogs for various roles under the guidance of experienced trainers
• Learning and following Faithwolf training systems and procedures
• Health checking dogs on a daily basis
• Temperament testing and assessments as your experience develops
• Assisting with and eventually conducting client handovers
• Maintaining good organisation of relevant paperwork and documents pertaining to the dogs in training
• Performing off-site training and handovers when required
• Liaising and updating clients with dogs' progress as your experience develops
• Recording training content
• Working closely with other trainers and welfare staff
• Helping maintain a clean and safe environment for animals and staff
• Assisting with cleaning of dog areas, administering medication and liaising with vets when required
• Loading and transporting dogs for off-site training
• Providing agreed holiday and overnight cover when required
• Maintaining effective communication with all staff
• Meeting and greeting visitors
• Taking deliveries
• Keeping the whole site clean, tidy, secure and professional, including appropriate waste disposal
• Driving company vehicles for the purpose of company business
• Being flexible and helping with other duties when required
• Taking responsibility for completing tasks to the required standard
• Any additional reasonable responsibilities required by Faithwolf Dog Training

Qualifications and requirements

• No previous professional dog training experience necessary
• A background in animal care or a personal passion for dogs is highly desirable
• Genuine passion for working with animals, especially dogs, with a caring but pragmatic mindset
• Hard working, reliable and punctual
• Willingness to learn and take constructive criticism
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients
• Willingness to undertake physical tasks including heavy lifting when necessary
• Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
• Self motivated and capable of working on your own initiative
• Willing to be flexible with working hours when reasonably required
• Prepared to go above and beyond rather than simply doing the minimum expected
• Happy to help colleagues and undertake other tasks when needed
• A full UK driving licence is highly desirable

No formal qualifications are required; enthusiasm and commitment to learning are essential.

This position provides an excellent pathway into professional dog training, offering practical experience alongside industry experts.

We're not expecting you to arrive as a dog trainer. That's our job.
