Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pet Sitter and Dog Walker to provide exceptional care for pets in their own homes as part of a rapidly growing company. The ideal candidate will possess a genuine love for all animals and the ability to ensure their safety and well-being while their owners are away. This role requires a punctual person with a strong commitment to customer service, as well as the ability to manage various tasks related to animal care. You may be offered a larger contract in line with the growth of the business.

Duties

• Provide daily care for pets, including feeding, walking, and administering medication as needed.
• Walking multiple dogs in small groups.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for pets, ensuring all areas are tidy and free from hazards.
• Monitor pet behaviour and health, reporting any concerns to the pet owner promptly.
• Engage with pets through play and exercise, ensuring they receive adequate physical activity.
• Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pets’ needs and any observations made during visits.
• Handle heavy lifting when necessary, such as moving pet supplies or assisting larger animals.
• Maintain accurate records of pet care activities and any special instructions provided by the owner.

Requirements

• Previous experience in animal care settings is highly desirable.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and their pets.
• Physical capability to perform heavy lifting and manage large or energetic animals safely.
• A genuine passion for animals, demonstrating patience and understanding in their care.
• Ability to work independently, managing time effectively while adhering to scheduled visits.
• Flexibility in availability, including weekends, evenings or holidays as required by clients.
• Use of own vehicle and ability to drive
• Confidence in working with all animal types
