Exciting opportunity for a skilled and passionate dog groomer to care for the beloved pets of a HNW family on the Windsor, Bucks-Berks border. This is a full time position at 35 hours per week, within an established team of dog carers working on site from a fully equipped grooming van.

THE ROLE

The ideal candidate will have experience working with a variety of dog breeds, providing high-standard grooming, including routine washing and drying, styling, and hygiene care. They should be confident in handling dogs of all sizes, with a good understanding of dog behaviour to ensure a calm and positive grooming experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing their own schedule efficiently while maintaining exceptional care and presentation of the dogs.

Duties:

  • Routine bathing, drying and styling of all dogs to individual requirements
  • Day to day grooming including coat maintenance and dental care
  • Washing off and drying dogs when returning from exercise
  • Carry out routine health checks and report any physical changes to management
  • Liase with supervisor to manage grooming requirements on a day to day basis with the ability to adapt to change
  • Day to day maintenance of grooming van including cleaning internally and externally.
  • Keeping all equipment as clean as possible maintaining the cleanliness of the areas to the highest standards
  • Manage your time to ensure all dogs individual needs are met
  • Liaising with the other staff, providing a daily hand-over.
  • Maintaining high levels of animal welfare and safety.
  • Most importantly love, empathy and care as standard.
  • Full UK driving licence required

PERSON SPECIFICATION

You will be reliable, upbeat and in good shape with an eye for detail.

You are able to take responsibility for your time, ensuring you complete given tasks in a timely manner.

You will be proactive, comfortable handling a range of dogs and have good common sense.

You will be a good communicator and provide regular feedback for management.

You will be happy to take on a range of tasks including cleaning, poo picking up, and helping with any additional requirements from your supervisor.

You like working with people as much as dogs and being part of a team.

You are a person who takes initiative to help support senior members of the team.

SKILLS

  • Experience working with a variety of different dog breeds with a strong understanding of dog behaviour
  • City & Guilds grooming qualification or apprenticeship desirable
