Full job description
Are you looking for a stepping stone within security and have a passion for dogs?
Although no experience is required, you will need to have a valid SIA and a full manual driving licence. You will also need to have a suitable home for our highly trained dogs.
Ward Security will provide full training, a highly trained dog, dog food and cover veterinary care costs.
As a Security Dog Handler, you will need to be physically fit as you will be patrolling a number of sites ensuring a safe and secure environment for our clients.
Pay rate and Benefits: £11.44 - £17.00 per hour pending on site. Shift Pattern: Days/ Nights/ Weekends – Please note this is a zero-hour contract although plenty of hours to be offered

Knowledge and skills required
· Able to read and write coherent sentences to construct legible reports
· Good interpersonal skills
· Excellent observational and decision-making skills
· Physical fitness and the ability to handle the demands of the job, including patrolling and responding to incidents
· Strong communication skills and the ability to work well alone and in a team
· SIA Licence
· Valid clean manual driving licence
· Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Key Responsibilities:
· Conduct regular patrols with a trained security dog to deter and detect potential security threats
· Respond promptly and effectively to security incidents and emergencies
· Maintain a high level of vigilance and situational awareness at all times
· Ensure the welfare and proper handling of the security dog, including regular training, feeding, and grooming
· Complete detailed incident reports and maintain accurate records of daily activities
· Provide excellent customer service to clients and the public
